We don’t want the Nov. 11 to end without giving a salute to every veteran in our country for their service. Since the Revolutionary War, farming communities have given their blessing to their sons and daughters to serve during these wars and often to the detriment of their families who depended on them to help run the farm. During the wars, farms supplied needed commodities for their country and the armed services. Today, about 11 percent of farmers are veterans. We appreciate their contributions now and then.
